I made this website to review the multitude of exercise videos and DVDs on the market today. Out of all of the multitudes of exercise and workout videos on the market, I can’t buy and review every single one. I have a few favorites that I do own and I own a bunch that aren’t my favorites anymore or they just sucked from the beginning and will do my best to leave valuable researched information one way or another. Use this site as a tool like any other website on the internet.
This site is supported solely by the advertisements. There are no forums, no expert advice and I’m not selling something directly. I may later, but lets stick with ads right now. Any ads will be about fitness videos, programs, equipment and even some supplements, some ads are informative and may lead you to your favorite workout video or something that will improve your workout sessions.
I’m a 50 something fat guy trying to get in shape again and again. I hate going to gyms for one reason, I don’t know what I’m doing or what I should be doing that’s best for me. The couple of personal trainers I tried out only wanted to sell more crap on top of selling their time. Another reason I don’t like going to gyms is I don’t like an audience and I get distracted watching the crap going on around me. Women coming in with full make-up and flirting with their trainers and the guys just checking out the women. I don’t like bars and most gyms seem like bars and I was intimated just starting out at some of the serious bodybuilding gyms.
I’m not a personal trainer or an expert, but I have tried most or have at least seen most of the video workouts on this site. I’ve seen everything from Jane Fonda to Richard Simmons. Both are probably good workouts and I’m sure Richard Simmons is a nice guy and extremely knowledgeable, but I’m not really into dancing. Looks silly and I can’t keep up or figure how to do the moves they’re doing, I would get confused easily and end up just making up my own moves. Now I’m checking out the Beachbody lineup. I started like everyone else with P90X and couldn’t do it. Even the “modified” versions I couldn’t make it through a few minutes. Instead of giving up, I got Power 90 and Power 90 Master Series to work my way up to P90X. I didn’t get this body in 90 days and probably not going to get rid of it in 90 days either. The truth is, I would be completely satisfied if my after photos looked like most of the P90X before shots.
The toughest part is changing the crap I eat. I tried Atkins and South Beach, lost some, gained some, but no diet is complete without exercise and no exercise program is complete without diet. That’s where I’m at. I don’t know nothing, but I’m learning and the more in shape I become, it has become more satisfying when I workout knowing I can now do more than a couple of push-ups and almost keep up with the video and hitting Pause less and less. It’s progress and now I want more!
